AccuLynx API Guide for Roofers

One-line verdict: A real roofing API with a lopsided shape — strong on contacts, jobs, and money owed; hands-off on estimates and invoices. Openness: 3 / 5 — rated 3 because the REST API and webhooks are documented and usable, but estimates and invoices are read-only, third parties enter through a partnership application, and there are no payment or estimate webhook topics.

The connection that works

Rung 1 — Direct connection, with a partnership front door. AccuLynx offers a REST API (version 2). Access is refreshingly simple on the technical side: your own account creates its own API key, used as a Bearer token — no OAuth sign-in dance was found in the documentation. The business side has one extra step: third-party integrations go through a Partnership Application, so a builder’s access is something AccuLynx approves, not something that starts the moment you sign up. Put that application time in the project plan.

The verified webhook list — the moments AccuLynx will announce instantly — covers contacts, jobs, milestones, initial appointments, invoice updated/voided, and financials. Read that list carefully, because what is missing matters as much as what is there: there are no payment topics and no estimate topics. The system will not tap you on the shoulder when a payment lands or an estimate moves; those workflows have to check on a schedule instead.

Limits are published and workable: 30 requests per second per IP, and 10 requests per second per key. No sandbox was documented, so testing expectations should stay modest — a live account, handled carefully, is the realistic test bed. For bridges, Zapier is available only through AccuLynx’s own AppConnections add-on, and Make support is community-built rather than native.

Can automate

Can’t automate

Hidden gate: The gate is asymmetry. AccuLynx lets outside systems touch the money owed — payments, balances, AR age — but keeps estimates and invoices read-only, and its partnership application controls who connects at all. A quote that promises automatic estimate or invoice creation on AccuLynx is promising the half of the API that does not open.

Build fit — what this platform supports well

What this means for your shop

If your pain is roofs done and balances aging, AccuLynx is quietly one of the better-connected platforms here — the AR data most chases are built on is actually reachable. If your pain is estimate volume, set expectations differently: AccuLynx will let a system watch estimates and nag about them, but your team still owns the documents themselves.
