One-line verdict: No API, no webhooks, no bridge app — the only tools Tradify talks to are the accounting and payment connections Tradify itself built in. Openness: 1 / 5 — rated 1 because no public API, developer documentation, or Zapier/Make listing exists in the vendor’s own materials; what connects is a short list of vendor-built syncs.
There is no rung 1, and no bridge either. Tradify (now part of The Access Group — an ownership change, not a rename) publishes no developer docs, no API reference, and no API-key or OAuth model anywhere in its own materials. Its Help Centre’s integration material is organised entirely around named accounting packages. We also checked the bridges directly: no Tradify listing exists on Zapier, and no native app on Make. Third-party review sites that list “Zapier” among Tradify’s integrations are not a Zapier listing — under this directory’s standard, they don’t count. (Unofficial workarounds that scrape the Tradify web app exist on package sites; they are not vendor-supported and not an integration path we’d put a business on.)
What does connect is Tradify’s own wiring. Its Help Centre documents links to Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB AccountRight, MYOB Essentials, and Sage — linking is optional, in the vendor’s own words (“You do not have to link Tradify with an Accounting System”), and Tradify is candid about its lane: it “focuses on job costing and job management up to invoicing” and doesn’t handle tax-liability reporting or bank reconciliation. The Xero connection, documented in detail, is the model: authorise Tradify in Xero’s settings, import customers, suppliers, and price-list items from Xero, and post invoices and bills back with account-code mapping. Stripe handles online card payments inside the product. Those syncs work — on Tradify’s terms, covering what Tradify chose to cover.
Hidden gate: There is no door at all — the only tools Tradify talks to are the accounting and payment connections Tradify itself built in. If a future need isn’t on that list, it isn’t a settings change; it’s a platform conversation.
If you’re a small trade shop — Tradify is especially common across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK — and your world is quotes, jobs, invoices, and one accounting system, this score may never cost you a dollar. It costs you the day you want a second tool involved: a lead catcher, a follow-up system, a dashboard. At that point Tradify is a wall with accounting-shaped pipes through it, and the automation gets built around the pipes — in Xero or QuickBooks — not around Tradify.
