One-line verdict: A real API that pushes leads, customers, and payment data in — sold separately, switched on for your database by WorkWave, and documented nowhere in public. Openness: 3 / 5 — rated 3 because WorkWave’s own pages verify GET/POST support and webhooks, capped by the add-on sale, per-database activation, and the total absence of a public developer reference.
Rung 1 — Direct connection, vendor-operated. PestPac (by WorkWave) states on its own pages: “PestPac’s API supports GET and POST requests for data transfer with third-party platforms,” and names the write direction precisely: “The API supports pushing leads, customer records, and payment data into PestPac. Payment data has additional protections for PCI compliance.” Its API page adds that you can “receive notifications of updates to your data via webhooks,” and describes interaction with areas including Servicing, Scheduling, Billing and Payments — that last list is a marketing page’s wording, and this page treats it as a vendor claim, not endpoint coverage.
Now the shape of the door. There is no public developer reference: no endpoint list, no base address, no published auth model (the vendor page says only that it “protects your data with secure authentication” — the specific credential sets in third-party guides are not vendor-verified), and no rate limits. And access is not a settings toggle: WorkWave sells API integrations as an add-on module (“operators can start with core scheduling and routing and add… API integrations as they grow”), and its help centre shows the activation pattern — for a partner integration, PestPac Support reaches out once Web API access “has been activated in your database.” WorkWave flips the switch, per database.
Reads deserve their own honest line: GET is supported — that’s verified. Which objects can be read back out is named by no vendor source, so reading customers, service orders, invoices, or payments out of PestPac stays UNVERIFIED below. GET existing does not prove any particular read.
Bridge apps: no native PestPac app exists on Zapier or Make. The documented workaround (from a third-party integration guide, labeled as such) is generic: push data to a sheet or webhook, then ingest through PestPac’s import tools or API. There are no PestPac bridge triggers or actions to list.
Hidden gate: You have to buy API access separately from WorkWave and get it switched on for your database before anything can connect. The purchase and the activation are both vendor appointments, not settings.
If you’re a bigger pest operator on PestPac, the API is a real asset pointed mostly inward: your lead and customer data can flow in from the tools that generate it. What you cannot do is verify the rest from WorkWave’s own publications — so before scoping any build that reads data back out, get the API’s actual scope from WorkWave in writing, and price the add-on module and activation into the project from day one.
