Contractor Foreman API Guide for Contractors

One-line verdict: A lot of software for the money — and no API at any price. What connects is Zapier and a handful of syncs Contractor Foreman built itself. Openness: 2 / 5 — rated 2 because no public API, developer docs, or API keys appear anywhere in the vendor’s own materials, while a real Zapier bridge and named native syncs keep it off the floor.

The connection that works

Start with what’s missing. We searched Contractor Foreman’s own site — including its full pricing-page feature and integrations list — for an API, developer documentation, API keys, or webhooks. None of it is there. The vendor sells integrations, not an API: its pricing page lists named connections, and Zapier. Any third-party directory claiming Contractor Foreman “has an API” is not describing anything the vendor documents — under this directory’s standard, there is no direct rung.

The syncs that do exist are genuinely useful. Per the vendor’s own list: QuickBooks Online (invoices, bills, payments, and expenses flow between the systems), Stripe (send an invoice, accept payment, see it recorded), Google and Outlook calendars, CompanyCam (photos sync into project files), Angi Leads (leads brought in automatically), and material pricing through 1build. Those are vendor-run connections — they do what they’re built to do, and nothing else.

Bridge apps: Zapier is the working rung. Its Contractor Foreman app (bridge evidence — Zapier’s listing, not vendor API proof) shows triggers around leads, customers, and file uploads — new leads and customers copied out, files uploaded to Contractor Foreman pushed to storage — and two verified actions: Create Lead and Create Customer. Nothing on the listing touches estimates, schedule, daily logs, or invoices. No Make app was verified.

Can automate

Can’t automate

Hidden gate: There is no door to open — Contractor Foreman gives you Zapier and a few built-in syncs, so anything deeper has to run outside the system, not inside it. Automations get built around it, with it as the record book, not the engine.

Build fit — what this platform supports well

What this means for your shop

If you run Contractor Foreman — plenty of small GCs and remodelers do, happily, at its price — treat it as your record book and build the automation around it: capture and follow up leads in connected tools, let its own syncs handle the books and photos, and push leads and customers across the Zapier bridge. Just don’t buy any tool whose pitch starts with “we integrate with Contractor Foreman’s API.” There isn’t one for them to integrate with.
